Passionately pursuing #bestself in the office and the gym.
About:
I’m a lifelong fitness enthusiast with a passion for inspiring women to whole-heartedly pursue their best self in the office and in the gym.
In 2014, after 10 years leading digital brand strategy for some of the worlds most loved brands, I relocated from New York City to Boise, Idaho to join the executive team at Bodybuilding.com. This was a pivotal shift in my career, enabling alignment between my passion for helping others achieve their health and fitness goals with my more than 16 years of marketing strategy expertise. Out of my enthusiasm for helping women came the grassroots for Nourish + Bloom, Bodybuilding.com’s first Women’s Private Label Brand as well as many women’s strength sports features.
In 2015, I was recognized as one of the Top 50 Influential Women in Digital Marketing. I was also highlighted in 2012 as one of the Top 25 Women Who Rock Social Media via TopRank. I have won several career-defining awards, including two Cannes Lions, an ANA Multicultural Excellence award, an AAF Mosaic award, a Gold Reggie, a Gold Andy, a CLIO for public relations, and several Interactive ADC awards. 2017 brought recognition by Forbes as a strong female marketer pursuing her passion.
In 2018, I joined forces with OPEX Fitness to dive deep into my passion for coaching education. I spent 2 years supporting the OPEX #TeachLeanMoveCreate mission creating content and digital courses that educate professional fitness coaches
Since late 2019, I have been consulting for purpose driven fitness business owners, supporting them with business and marketing growth strategies and branded content solutions. I landed full time with Team HYRBID, May 2020.
Fitness Background:
I started weight training in high school to gain strength as a competitive cheerleader. I fell in love with the gym and quickly became a personal trainer and group fitness instructor. I spent 18 years competing in both the NPC and WBFF across the fitness, figure, and bikini divisions.
As I entered my 30’s I became less motivated by decreasing the number on the scale and obsessed with increasing the numbers on the barbell. From 2014 to 2016 I focused purely on powerlifting, building strength (300lb Squat, 205lb Bench, 365lb Deadlift).
In 2014, I developed my bodyweight focused #ConditioningwKandace and #BodyweightFlow workouts to keep my cardio session fun and engaging while spending time with people I love deeply.
In 2016, I have transitioned to functional fitness with dedicated focus on Olympic Weightlifting and gymnastics skill development. With an 18 month deep dive at OPEX Fitness, I learned from brilliant coaching minds and mastered individualized program design, Energy System Training, and advanced strength and conditioning methods.
And today, I move to move forever, eat real food so I can express fully, and learn every day.
Fitness Philosophy:
Fitness should be fun, it's freedom to play and permission to fail.
The time you spend sweating should fill you with confidence, self-love, and gratitude.
You are in complete control of the effort you give to each workout and to each day.
Effort is the most pure reflection of gratitude and the most promising way to grow.
Move in ways that challenge you, that build confidence, that reaffirm your strength.
Bring that strength with you as you take on the rest of your day.
